It seems that CCCS do not contribute to this forum even though their logo is displayed on this page. Anyone with an explaination? I am thinking of using them for a solution to my debt problems and would like them to be a part of this very helpful and, worthwhile project

They rarely do and have no need to. They receive numerous referrals each month from their paymasters the banks, mainstream media and CABs. They do not have to justify themselves because they have that much work it is irrelevant if some of it goes elsewhere. The irony is they apparently only have one IP for the number of calls they get so make up your own mind whether they can provide as good a service as the independant, professional sector.

CCCS do contribute occasionally. The last time I believe was to discuss the allowance guidelines which they help set.

CCCS receive 'donations' from banks in line with how much they generate in repayments. Much like a car salesman receives a 'donation' on the cars they sell LOL! My personal observation is that the majority of mis-advised DMPs we hear about on the forum come from the 'charities' who are in bed with the banks. They are worth speaking to but don't be swayed by their charity status, try a commercial firm too for comparison.

Hi Iam, we are with the cccsva and i guess we get a fair service.

You do feel like your just another number, and i guess with some of the other companys you would probley feel that you would be getting a more personal service i guess.

I have read many times on the net that they are in with the banks etc but like its been said on here many many times you MUST talk to a few companys first before commiting to any company.

Good Luck

Baldy

I think a lot of us feel pretty anonymous. Especially when we compare our service with that of certain IPs!!!

CCCS have contributed to this forum in the past and we hope they will do so in the future.

Hi

They seem to get battered when they come on the forum.

To be fair to them they do very good work and help tens of thousands of people each year. They offer debt management plans with no fees or set up costs as they are financed directly by the creditors.
You have to decide on what is important to you, no fees or a personal service when considering a Debt Management Plan, also the most important part of a DMP is what is happening to interest and late charges ? I personally believe that a good debt management company are more likely to get all interest stopped and more quickly compared to The CCCS
All IVAs have to go through Insolvency Practitioners who will take fes from the funds paid into the IVA

Any information of CCCS success rate in getting interest and charges frozen would be more than helpful[:)]

As an observation, it seems odd that you are comparing a DMP with one firm to an IVA with another. Regardless of the eventual provider you choose to represent you, surely the first decision must be on the type of solution you require.

If I were you I would decide on that first, and then compare the services provided by the respective firms you have chosen - and don't forget that all firms, regardless of their "charitable" status, charge commercial fees when acting as Supervisors of IVAs.

I agree with Melanie that the advice from both these firms should be the same. I certainly think you should get another opinion from an independent, professional firm.

@iamfubb: I would have to agree that deciding on whether you'd prefer an iva or dmp should be a priority. Whats making you undecided?
