Hi

Ive submitted all my details to Melanie Giles, and awaiting for this to be processed, I am getting a call a day from a debt managment company saying that I shouldnt be doing and IVA I should be doing a Debt managment programme with them, Ive tols them im not interested but they keep coming up with a different reason every day why I should be dealing with them. The latest thing when they phoned me 5 mins ago was I wont be able to get an IVA due to mine & my husbands mortgage being aroiund 40% of our total income, has anyone come across this clause before?

You can ignore people who cold call you saying you shouldn't be doing that, do this, they're only interested in getting you signed up to their plan and making money for themselves.

Debt managment companies are not regulated, insolvency practitioners are, so they are required to give best advice to their clients. Melanie Giles would not have offered you an IVA if it was not suitable for you.

I would hang tight until you hear from Melanie. Yes, there are creditors who have certain criteria when it comes to ratio of income being utilised on secured loans. Hang on for the advice.

Personally, what the debt management company is doing is most unprofessional. If you do not want to do Debt Management with them, YOU DON'T WANT TO DO A DEBT MANAGEMENT PLAN WITH THEM. It's is unfortunate they have a basic failing in understanding the language. Surely 'No' means 'No'?

To be contacting you on a daily basis smacks of desperation. Who is it that you are receiving these calls from? Name and shame and let's see if they can be stopped with their nuisance calls.

To be honest after I Disregarded them I binned the paper I had written on, it was a company that I came up in the first few names when you search Debt advice on Google, its a different name to the company name that appears when you search, it was like a mans name, like William something.. God not much use am I!!!!

If I have anymore phonecalls, which is highly likely I will get the name and post it.

I just hope there not right about the IVA, as this is something I really want to progress with I certainly dont want to be in a DMP for 12 years like they suggested!!
