Evening peeps...last week (23rd) I applied to change my energy suppliers from SSE(Atlantic) to EDF, I applied through confused.com as they were offering £30 cashback, I received an email instantly from confused.com with all the details but not heard anything yet from EDF, i am actually waiting to be knocked back following a credit search, up to now Ive heard nothing, although it has only been 6 days, but I have just checked my bank account online and the direct debit has been set up for EDF, does anyone know if this means Ive passed and they will have me??!!

Let us know Oscarsmum - be good to know that you can change to them whilst in an IVA.

I'm with Atlantic but think I'll be staying with them. I can arrange to go on a NSC tariff so will be looking into that at the weekend.

That is good news Oscar.

I've recently moved to Scottish Power's fixed online deal until Dec 2013 and confused.com reckon it will save me £326 on both electric and gas ( yeah, we will see!)...but appears no credit check done!. Got my welcome pack through yesterday and agreement number. They notify my old supplier and it all takes 4-5 weeks.

My advice is don't cancel DD of old supplier and let new one sort out timings on transfer as you may end up having to settle on old account if in arrears.

morning oscarsmum1

I moved from scottish power to EDF 2 years ago ie whilst in year 4 of my IVA & I had no problem, so can only assume they didnt do a credit check. I have just moved over to their blue tarif, whereby you can move at anytime without penalty, but also, if they come across a tariff at any time that equates to being £1 a week cheaper on a 12 months projection, they email you to tell you. Also, on the comparison sites, this tarif fares well as " one of the cheapets ".

I just hope that my dearly departed grans saying doesnt prove to stil be true some 30 years after she left this world " if it sounds too good to be true, thats usually because it is "... I can still hear her voice saying this now !! lets hope she's wrong on this occasion
Last payment made April 2012
Certificate received 1st Nov 2012

Morning all....I didn't need to ring EDF, I had an email waiting for me this morning welcoming me to the company, my new account number and date of transfer, pheweee!! My new monthly bill is £34 cheaper than what I pay now, im more chuffed I've been accepted, no deposit or anything, I know I probably won't be able to keep the money I've saved for me and will be factored into my annual review, but at least its one thing that won't increase until April 2014, ha..just got a whole bunch of other bills/outgoings to worry about!!
