Hiya all,
As you all know I made my last payment to DFD in August this year and even though I've mailed Declan, and DFD a good few times I've had zero back from anyone yet and no completion.
Could this been because of this VAT refund stuff that's been going on of late? I don't really understand it if I'm honest but I've heard that creditors could benefit from it as more monies will be released to the IVA pot.
I'm wondering though, I paid 100% plus fees... so does this mean with the VAT stuff that I've paid too much?
Confused slightly and trying to figure out why I've not had my completion yet but also why there's been no word as to what's going on with it...
Really would've liked to have it in my hands before Xmas [:)]

Some firms do have a backlog of completions and DFD do seem to take a few months to get the certificates out. It sounds like the VAT may be due back to you in this case as the creditors are fully paid and the IP firm can't keep it - that would be fab!!

Hi Kazzy I'd email Declan again and if you get an out of office email the other named person if there is one, Declan came up trumps for us. Best wishes

Hi KAZZY like ive already mentioned about this subject, i think its disgusting that people are having their lives put on hold post iva because of any vat rulings,at the end of the day, terms and conditions of a iva are binding so a client should have the dignity of completion, when they have played their part. The insolvency industry needs to get their act together and solve this indignity as soon as possible.

Hi Kazzy,

I am in a similar position, I made my last payment in August 2011 and a month later I got a letter from my IP saying that due to HMRC Vat refunds there would now be a delay in completing my agreement. I emailed them to get further info and they just said their hands were tied as it is all down the HMRC and creditors demands for refunds to be added to the dividends.

But as 'Broke of London' commented, I had completed my payments so maybe I should get the VAT refunds instead??? Really unsure whats happening. I'm not getting the full story from my IP and its difficult to find out who to turn to for advice. All I know is after nearly 4 months of waiting there is no sign of completion or news on what is happening with the refunds and who exactly is entitled to the repayment. My IP is staying quiet on the matter

Hi Kazzy
As I mentioned in the other post, this is something I’m going to try and resolve asap.

I will email you shortly and let you know where we are with the certificate.

Thanks
