Hi,

Recently i was assaulted in a local bar for no reason by a lithuanian guy who ran off after the assault, never to be seen again.

I required surgery to repair a shattered jaw.

I have just been informed by the police that i will be able to claim from the Criminal Injuries Compensation board for this assault.

My question is:

How much of this will be taken by my IVA?

This is something you will need to discuss with your own IP - and it will depend on whether this eventuality was provided for within the terms of the IVA. Compensation for pain and suffering is not treated as an after-acquired asset in bankruptcy, so you could be lucky and be able to keep the money - or use it to effect an early settlement to creditors.
