how do you access your credit report or speak to some one regarding it . well today ive never been so embarassed i went to upgrade my phone well i dropped in my cup of coffee in school yesterday so went to o2 shop bought the phone paid cash went on to choose a pay monthly minutes package which would direct debit £10.50 a month thought this no prob as i had and have pay for other things like car insurance monthly . well while sitting waiting for it to process the advisor said sorry its been declined due to a credit check i asked why but there was not reason given just declined i was not asking for credit i would be paying the £10.50 fee by direct debit every month i felt like crying in the shop and there were other people around it made it worse to think my iva payement finshed in dec2011 and yet due to the delays we are all facing this was the smack in the face has anyone esle had this happen to them?

Unfortunately it will still be on your credit report until 2012 and most mobile companies will refuse you for contract.

You could try T Mobile - they are usually pretty good.

As Harpic says, try T-Mobile, they gave me a new contract in my IVA with no problem.
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.
IVA Completed 23rd July 2013 .... C.C. 10th January 2014

Try 3 I used to work for them and they have the lowest credit check allowances. As long a's yr on the electoral register you should be fine. Good luck x
5 years done and dusted. Certificate received.

3 won't touch you - we tried to get one for Jan last year and couldn't. Our daughter had to take it out for her.

The GiffGaff sim card payg is very good, it's what we have for my hubby. He's not into technical things but son gave him a BB and he will now use it occasionally only costs £5@ month for what he wants.
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

I had one of those annoying sales calls from Vodafone on Friday where they tried to sell me stuff. I don't ever remember getting one of those whilst in my IVA. So makes me wonder if they were aware of it at the time but cause I had a contract already was ok.

I tried o2 a few years back, whilst in a IVA as wanted the iPhone but was turned down flat too.

I do suspect that time will heal but you'll need to wait until the IVA has been removed from your credit file which is a minimum of 6 years from when it was registered, and needs to be marked as completed too. Along with the removal of any defaults 6 years from when they were registered.
We're willing to wipe the slate clean, give you a fresh start. All that we're asking in return is your cooperation.

Hi Dawn,

I was on payg with T-Mobile for many years. I'm waiting for my cc, i made my last payment in 9/11.

I wanted to take out my first mobile phone contract to help repair my credit, so two months ago i tried to get a contract with T-mobile for a smart phone i was turned down when i failed the telephone interview with Experian, but was told i could have a contract for one of T-mobiles cheapest phones.

Last week i tried again with an independant seller (buymobilephonesnet), they said they were so certain i would get my smartphone it felt they were allmost guaranteeing it would happen, they said i would get an email by 4pm confirming delivery the next day, well the email didn't arrive that night i was so disappointed thinking i failed again, next morning there was a knock and ring at the door it turned out to be a courier delivering my new smartphone, oh and the contract is with T-mobile.

Regards David.

If you're already with O2 then you're fine but otherwise steer clear of them.

I've got a 12 month pay monthly contract for just over £10 per month for 300 minutes, 300 text and internet booster with T-mobile.

T Mobile do seem to be IVA sympathetic.
