Hi Phil,

Absolutely no idea on this!!!

Give them a call tomorrow (I presume you did it online?)and insist on knowing what this issue is.

I would imagine they are unable to verify who you are before releasing information. Maybe something as simple as the online Electoral Roll is down ( or they haven't paid their licence fee!).

Call credit are the least professional of the 3 but while they will not answer a direct query by phone(data protection)they should be able to answer a general question!

Yes I did it on-line today, BUT as a precaution ive decided to cancel my subscription with callcredit, Equifax and Experian are so much more professional. Do I really need to check my credit report with Callcredit?? if so I think its wise doing it the old fashioned way.

You do need to check all three .. and Callcredit is the one most likely to contain errors !

call credit is free to join as long as you join it at noddle. The customer services have always been helpful to me but that is me doing it all by email rather than phone.

Hi dont worry about it. It is purely an id issue. Callcredit are notorious for having peoples addresses slightly different so it doesn't match automate. They had me with a totally wrong postcode. All that happens is that a human will just link your address manually then your account opens usually in a few days.

I checked my credit report with Noddle and found my new car insurance company did a search last week for Money Laundering! I paid cash for car insurance so I wasn't expecting them to search at all.
It seems some companies use CRAs for other purposes than simply credit.
Final payment made Dec 2011.
Certificate of Completion arrived 26th Sept 2012

The thing with the insurance companies doing a check is that it doesn't show up to other potential creditors if they do a search. I always check loads of insurance companies and I've had a list as long as my arm of checks by them but it never stopped me being able to get a loan.

Insurance and finance oompanies are obliged to do money laundering checks by law so that's why it's come up, it's no reflection on you. The only people that can see that search are you and the original searching company. It's not taken into account for nothing else unlike credit searches. A money laundering check is just to verify you are who you say you are. They don't get back financial payment information on it.

I went into a panic when I saw all of the companies listed as searching the first time I saw it!!!!! Thankfully it doesn't make any difference.
