Credit Reference Agency file

Hi Guys. I want to send off for a credit report for myself and hubby, but when I go on Experian's site, they just want you to sign up for credit expert, where they charge you a monthly dd for unlimited access to your file. Is there an alternative, I used to be able to pay £2 and get it sent through the post but that doesn't seem to be available anymore?? Kazzy x

You can still pay the £2 and receive your report through the post.
Why not sign up for the free trial period and just cancel once the month is up ?

Thanks Andy, I have done that before, but it is set up as a monthly debit card payment and not a direct debit as they quote, so it cannot be cancelled through your bank in the normal way that you would cancel a dd. It was a headache to get it cancelled before so I'm loathe to do it again. So if I just sent £4 off by cheque with a letter, will they return a report? Kazzy x

I don't know how much it will cost for a report now Kazzy, it's £6.95 a month if you sign up.

Kazzy, I got mine from this site, I'm not sure if this is what you're after, you can pay by debit card, I think it's about £2.00 and you can view if straight away.

I applied for my credit files from all 3 agencies when I was discharged. I printed the application forms from the websites and got Dave to write cheques and I had the files within a week.

Yes, I've used this one as well Viki. If it's the same one I am thinking of, it doesn't cost you to view it.


I always used Experian, but it cost just too much money.

The annual credit one is just that - it's free for just one update a year. That should be enough for those IVA days!!!!!!!!

If you want anything else, you do have to pay.

The free annual credit report is ok, but not as accurate as Experian or Equifax. Call Credit is just as bad, and I think that's where they get the information from. I've got to get quite a few bits corrected on mine when I get around to it.

Hi Guys, I just got the annual credit check one. I got it instantly and it cost £1.77. It is pretty good, but only shows one default so far, with nothing filed in insolvency, strange? Does anyone know how long it takes for you to show insolvent as it's nearly a month now for us. Kazzy x

I didn't pay for my check from annual credit. It isn't as accurate, as Skippy says.

As I said I think they buy their information from Call Credit, who have me down as BR in 2 different courts (Kingston upon Thames and Warwick, so not even close!) on the same day with the same reference number. I must write to them to get that sorted out!

Til, how long since you did your IVA? Mine was three weeks before it showed on the register.
