Ho all can anyone make sense of this Please?
As you all know ( and are probably bored to death of hearing about)
Co-op rejected my application for a current account because of a credit check
This was fine last month when I got accepted for car finance,
Having looked again I saw a partially settled account so I contacted Experian and got this

Thank you for your contact received on 8/22/2018 2:00 AM

*PRA Group (UK) Limited (Account Started on 04/09/2006)

Having checked our records I can confirm that the above account reads as satisfied (paid off).

Please view an updated report.

*Additional Information

I understand you'd like to know why the default status doesn’t change once it’s been paid off. Having checked I can confirm your default reads as a £0 balance which means the default has been satisfied and companies will see you no longer owe the debt. The original default balance remains to show how much the account defaulted for.

I'd also like to make you aware that agreeing to make payments after an account has been defaulted doesn’t change the account’s history. This is why the ‘!’ status history doesn’t change. The ‘!’ status show that at the date of default the account wasn’t being managed in line with the original contract.

Please note that defaults remain on our records for six years from the defaulted date after which it will be removed automatically.

You can visit our Experian UK YouTube channel for some tips on how long they stay on your credit report, what to do now and how a default affects you.

*IVA Completion Certificate

Please be kind enough to provide us with your IVA completion certificate so that we could look into this further for you.
If you need any more help, please let us know.

To get in touch you can email us at consumer.helpservice@uk.experian.com or visit our website at www.experian.co.uk.

Kind regards,

If the account was defaulted -- what was the default date ? The whole shebang should drop off after 6 years ! And, if it wasn't correctly defaulted -- why did it drop off before (only to be put back on) ?
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.

I too am in the process of tidying my post-IVA credit file, and I understand that it is best to contact the creditor to ensure that they have reported correctly to the 3 credit agencies.

So if you have not already done so, it might be worth contacting CoOp as well.
My opinions are just that: Based on my experience and being a self-employed IVA customer.

They are so blimming hard to deal with! They will only speak to you islf you pay £15 a month they take days to reply to emails and then don’t read them
Properly! You have to wait a week for a code to look at your statutory report as they post it!
