Hello

I was told by my Practitioner following my completion certificate that my IVA will remain on my credit file from the date of the successful completion of my IVA but I was always under the impression that the IVA stays on credit file for 6 years from the Start date of the IVA not the completion date, when I check Citizens advice / ICO it corroborates what I say but the Insolvency practitioner has repeated that it's 6 years from the date it's completed, which one is it please?

Kind regards

It is six years from the START of your IVA.

Kallis is correct -- whoever you are speaking to is not !

I hope that you are chatting with a call handler, rather than the actual IP, because someone needs some retraining.
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.

Thanks both I was speaking to the IVA trust person at debt movement and was told its 6 years from the successful completion of my IVA which to be honest shocked me because if that were true (it’s not as you stated) surely that would go against allowing people to try and rebuild their credit history again.

Thanks for responding both I appreciate it! I feel much better

Debt Movement are wrong - the call handler was totally wrong and it is six years from the start. Glad we were able to reassure you.

Thank you both! I really appreciate it - my mental health is terrible and when I read that it would stay on my credit file from the completion I felt massive despair - but you’ve made me feel a lot better - thank you!
