Don't know the answer to that but at worst they might ask you to pay a deposit up front I would have thought. I have never had a problem trying to change providers and my credit rating is shocking, but im not in an IVa yet.

I would have thought that you would be ok if you are already with them and have had no problems with your payments to them.

I'm seriously considering leaving them - have not been impressed at all!

I used to be with AOL as well and loved them - apart from the price!

At the moment we have the lot with BT, broadband and broadband talk but it is a pain when it packs up. It was fine until about 6 months ago, and we are now on our 3rd hub!

We're with Sky for phone and internet and I wouldn't go back to BT again - we were with them for a few years and their 'service' was over-priced rubbish!

You're fine with broadband, it's not classed as credit. We've had no trouble with our IVA company when it comes to that.

Hi
The credit check is more to see if you have been at your property for the time that you state and to confirm that you are who you are.
I can't see you having a problem as I had to go through a credit check with BT a couple of years ago,and had an IVA on my file, and I had no problem
Regards

Hi, we are with BT and were in an IVA when we moved house and changed from Virgin to them. We have phone and broadband and had no problems with credit check. They never even mentioned anything. I have found them ok, no probs with the broadband, but they sold us BT Vision when they shouldn't have as we only have a slow broadband speed here! So it is useless! That's the reason we couldn't carry on with Virgin!

I have the broadband and home phone threough orange. About £15 a month for line rental and broadband. You get free calls over the broadband to geographic landlines.

Pipex are supposed to be good - do not believe they credit check. We are with Sky - not a bad package - don't have to pay for landline calls day or night except 0845 - creditors use those so don't return their calls anyway

David, if you have to make calls to a lo-call, national rate or premium, try this site:

http://www.saynoto0870.com/search.php

99% of the time you can get a geographical number to call.
