Hi All,
As you know I've just accepted a new post within the NHS. All NHS posts are CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) checked. Obviously I've been through this process many times - twice in the last year, once for my permanent post and also for an agency nursing post.
Now that I am in an IVA will my record be affected? I can't see that finance and the protection of vulnerable people & children is connected, but obviously I am a bit worried.
Any advice gratefully accepted,
I hope to goodness everything will be OK as I really don't need any more problems!!
Thanks,
Chardonnay

I'm confident that this is just a Criminal Records check and nothing to do with your financially. I can remember a similar posting a while back.
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

Hi - your finance has nothing to do with a CRB.

Yes it is just a criminal record check. Your details will be checked on the Police National Computer. Mostly nothing comes back, but sometimes there are people with similar names or dates of birth which will require a more indepth check just to make sure it isn't you! This will just involve checking fingerprints.

No financial check is done.

Thanks everyone,
I'll post the letter now - have been waiting for advice from you all!! I've been checked four times in all - the last one in November '07 to join the agency so I should think it will come back clear as I haven't broken any laws in the interim. I just worry that the finance mess will ruin everything as it's caused a lot of problems to date - as I'm sure you all know only too well having been through it!!
Thank again - you are all super,
Hugs,

I'm having to go through one of those CRB checks after volunteering my services at one of the schools our company has links with.

Nothing to worry about as far as I am aware with IVA's.
We're willing to wipe the slate clean, give you a fresh start. All that we're asking in return is your cooperation.

They're mainly to check that you are ok to work in the industry you have applied for, no nasty convictions, particularly if it's to do with kids.
