Not surprised that post was deleted, quite thought provoking. I have a cat and don't get a 'small fortune' in fact he wasn't even included as i was never asked did i have pets so pay out of my household budget!!
Om shanti, namesté, good luck to all who are embarking on the IVA journey, it isn't always an easy one but the outcome is the best.

IVA COMPLETED August 2012, received Completion certificate 18.4.13.

I have two cats and also don't get a small fortune. I know that it is a personal choice to have animals but it is still an expenditure that is genuine.

We got our cat after the IVA was set up and his costs are not included ... as it was my choice to get him while in the IVA, I thought it would be a bit of a cheek to ask my creditors to pay for him as an addition.

We have three dogs, the third one joined us after the IVA was agreed so we don't claim for her, just the other two. Then again, she is a Jack Russell so doesn't eat a lot!!!

V annoying to delete the post.

I felt it had to be mentioned though!! My pet allowance goes no-where - luckily when the goats come out into the paddock there's loads of free food for them and they are not allowed back until they are full up!!![;)]

I agree, it is. He has been locked out now though so not likely to happen again.

Thanks Jan - I have no problem with freedom of speech - I'd get jealous of someone with 6 kids claiming all their allowable expenses while eating beans on toast to be able to buy goat food.

However, it could have led readers to assume they can claim for all pet expenses which would then lead to disappontment.

The sentiment was there though - I certainly agree the poster should be allowed window cleaning if they can get it approved.

If you pay it and the creditors are happy that's good enough.
