Sorry? Cashplus is not a prepay mastercard, and if you can get a card with your bank account, then go for it.

Hello, no it isn't a card from the bank. I think my brother got one though his employer, it was a bit like topping credit up onto a card, you then use the credit you've paid for in advance like a debit card. you can't over draw.

Sorry, I was replying to Ivoryfalcon as I wasn't sure which he was referring to.
There are prepay cards, but they do tend to charge monthly fees and for cash withdrawals.
Stick with the card from the Co-op if it works for you.

I have the Cashplus Mastercard, www.mycashplus.co.uk it is a pre-pay Mastercard. I agree that it's not free but mine has never been refused anywhere.
The Visa Debit that is part of the cashminder account is well known for being confused with an electron card, not everyone accepted electrons.
The cashminder card is a Visa Debit but the first 4 digits identify it as an electron for many merchants. It should rectify over time as merchants update but that does not help the OP.
I have a cashplus card from Nationwide and that has not been refused anywhere so far, either online or instore.

I am trying to think of IVA friendly accounts that come with Visa Debit that the OP does not have as a creditor, sadly Nationwide is a creditor of tralee123.
Is it the Yorkshire bank or the Yorkshire Building Society that is IVA friendly?
I use Natwest Step and have few problems, Except for the trains, but Natwest is another creditor for tralee123
Hopefully someone will be along soon with another suggestion.

trying to make sense of of the direct debits going out leaves me dizzy & i'm trying get to grips of when i can take food&fuel money out so i don't go OD!

You will be allowed a savings account and if the Co-op are not a creditor then nobody can take money out of that account.
