Hi LInda

Are you in a IVA ? - some people find these letters and phone call continue at the start - sometimes for months

If your in the IVA, the companies are bound by this. Its up to you how you play this, refuse to answer any questions or refer them to your IVA team.
The letters, either you can bin or send them back to the IP

A set up fee of £750 isn't going to cover an IVA -- this sounds more like a DMP (not a promising one either).
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.

I agree with Foggy, this sounds like a DMP. I would speak to them next week and ask them to confirm how the payments are distributed.

If you are in a DMP and aren't happy with the company that you are using I would suggest having a look on www.iva.com and speaking to 2 or 3 other companies for advice.

Having looked on their website they appear to offer both DMP and IVA - although the FAQ's talk more about DMP's !
Backin September 2010 did you receive a Chairmans Report following a Creditors Meeting where they vote to accept or not ?
It sounds to me like you may be in a DMP and therefore this is not guaranteed to stop the interest and creditors can still come and ask for more !
I would ring them and speak to a case worker for clarifcation.

What contractual information have you signed up to with this firm? I suggest that you ask them exactly what they are doing for you, and what is the name of the IP they have appointed to act for you so you can speak to him/her directly.

It is never too late to change your mind if you feel you have made the wrong choice, and if you pull out from them they ought to return your money.

I had a similar thing happen to me... I contacted a company called Hanover Sterling. They ommitted to tell me when I signed up with them that the first two payments was their setting up fee and then they took £35 out of my payemt each month as well for their fee.

I was horrified that two months later this company had still not even contacted any of my creditors, so all this time I was receiving threatening calls, letters and even court action. Even when they finally did contact the creditors, the payments were not sent on time and on a number of occasions the arrangement failed. After two years of this nonsense, I 'sacked' them and after looking on this forum, decided to go for an IVA with Vincent Bond.

Best thing I ever did...I

I've not heard of them at all. I do agree that you should seek other advice via the link posted above.

It can't hurt and might be the best thing you ever do.

The advice is free and impartial.

It won't hurt as others suggest to talk to 2 or 3 other providers. If you're not happy within a DMP you can change companies, not really feasible within an IVA but you want a company who is working hard for you within a DMP x
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.
