I'm a newbie to the forum, but not to our Iva. We have about 20 more payments to make.
I've noticed lots of completions on here too and quite a few F&F posts. We're in it till the end though.
Ike.

I loved reading completion stories in our iva, they gave me hope!

Agree about appearing to be lots of F&Fs, I think due to the transfer and uncertainty around that.

We did the full 5 years, would love to have ended it earlier but didn't tell anyone about it so had no access to funds!

we were all new once and you will get there!

I am still in one, although I only have 2 payments to go. But then I have the famous 6 month GT wait.
If life is what you make it, I must have been in a strange mood when I made mine

I've still got a long old road ahead...

F&F are the stuff of dreams for me! Don't know where I'd ever get that kind of money - unless I win the lottery!
One pay-cheque away from oblivion!

I arrived home from work today to find my completion certificate from DFD was waiting for me - a few days short of 8 months since I made my final payment (and my final annual review was not completed until about 3 months after my final payment... - DFD blamed a backlog of work).

A brilliant feeling - may well over this weekend open the bottle of wine which was a free gift with an online grocery order from Waitrose just before last Christmas (and you do not have to spend a fortune with Waitrose to find good quality food)!!!!

Whilst I have very rarely posted, this forum has been invaluable for its information/advice.

Many thanks to Evette from DFD for her assistance when I have contacted her.

My circumstances were more straightforward than others, as my husband and I do not have a mortgage - we did have to move once during the IVA, but this was not a problem when it came to acceptance for a tenancy, I was honest about my IVA (and we were not even asked for several months' rent in advance, or a guarantor). Our salaries have stayed very much the same - any increases (minimal!) were swallowed up by increases in normal household expenditure.

I also had to cope with my husband being diagnosed with cancer (a couple of years after my IVA started), and his subsequent surgery - thankfully he is in remission, but obviously has to have regular checks; receiving the CC is however one less thing to worry about so will help us both cope.

Now for the wait to disappear from the insolvency register and checking with credit reference agencies...

Great news. I do wonder if there was a spike in iva applications 5/6 years ago meaning more completing around the same time? Always pleasing and an inspiration to others.

Discharged today the 8th feb 2012. View is much brighter now.
