IVA 3 years old seperate ones for myself and husband, we are splitting up and are now forced to sell our home, we have offered a full and final settlement to IP now waiting for creditors meeting, but have been warned that they will take every penny of equity from us, we have no where to go, no money to get a rented property, no money for storage of furniture, no money for deposits or rent in advance, completely broke with no hope, just survived a suicide attempt, but I know I will do it again and it will be successful next time, already made plans to go far away and do it, no family to help, hubby has new 'friend', can they really take every spare bit of cash from sale of house, we made them a full and final offer which was more than what we would have paid over the rest of the term. It seems so unfair, and we have no choice in the matter. please help xxxx

OK Jilly, first thing...do not go any further in thinking about suicide. That is not the answer and you deserve alot better than that. Things are black right now and they mgiht take a long time to look less black, but they will..so give it time, please.
Secondly...the money side will sort itself out. Really it will. If the F&F represents the best option for the creditors then they will accept it. Even if they don't there will be other options.
Please go and talk to your doctor, today...the biggest help that you need is some real support. If there is anything I can do to help, please ask.

Bradders xx

Hi Jilly & welcome to the forum.
Please, please don't do anything in the form off attempting to hurt yourself, the debt, the money & the creditors are just not worth it. You are not alone in this, there are others here whom have been in similar situations & will be able to support you through this terrible time you are having.
When things get bad and everything feels like its going black & your thinking or attempting suicide, go talk to your doctor, it will help & they can offer you support through this. I personally know what your going through & have seeked help from my GP.
This forum is the right place for you to be regarding your IVA situation, we have experts from various IVA companies
Whom I'm sure will offer you some sound advise on your situation. Have you had a chat with your IP regarding where this is going to leave you after the sale of your home & F&F offer has been accepted?

Who has told you that you will lose every penny from the sale of your property, Jilly? Was this your IP? It would be very unusual to not be allowed to even keep a modest relocation package for you both, having gone through the pain of having to sell your home.

I am so sorry to hear of your current position both financially and personally. You must feel at your absolute lowest ebb right now, but do get some professional help from your GP and your IP as things are never as bad as they can sometimes seem.
Regards, Melanie Giles, Insolvency Practitioner

Jilly, can you come back on to the forum, give a bit more detail about your IVA...how long/much is left what the f&f offer was. Who the IVA is with etc. There are exoerts from some of the leading IVA companies who post on here and who often will pick up a case and work wonders to get to a good solution.

It can't do any harm to give it a go can it?

But whatever you do, you must take care of yourself and put your own wellbeing first.

Jilly, I hope you come back to the forum to see just how many people care and understand how you are feeling.

There is ALWAYS hope and things are never as bad as you seem, I seem to have spent a fair few parts of my life at times feeling exactly how you do and you can't see a way out of things but believe me, things will improve for you, at the end of the day IT IS ONLY MONEY!!! at the very least you will be free from the shackles of debt and that in itself brings you freedom like no other.

Take care of yourself xx

Jilly I am so pleased you are talking to us on here - please keep doing that and please also get some other help too to help you cope with this awful but TEMPORARY situation. You will not be left with nothing - a proportion of your equity will be reserved for the essential costs you will have in moving. Who is the company you have looking after you - they may have someone on here to reassure you.

Suicide can sometimes feel like the only solution to end a problem and a difficult time but it will end so much more as well Jilly which would be a terrible waste. the Samaritans are wonderful people who are there 24/7 to listen and be there for you (08457 909090 or jo@samaritans.org) - they won't change the situation but they will help in how you cope with it.

Hubby may have a new 'friend' but you have just found yourself a much bigger and better bunch of friends who wond't know you but care and will be here for you.

Keep in touch and speak to your IP also to get reassurance and your GP to get hands on help coming to terms with things.

Big hugs :-)

Jilly

I cant say anymore than the posts already here. Things may feel very low at present but on the other hand they can only get better and I think some small steps now you will start to feel confident and that actually grows with time. We all at times go through very hard times and they can make one very low but with help and someone to talk and help you through this you will survicve and one day you yourself maybe able to help others in the same situation.

God bless

Jilly you have friends here that you just haven't met yet...friends who will support both on and off the forum.

Take the expert advice above in respect of your IVA but I know any one of us will be willing to talk to you offline if that's what you want, an ear from one who is going through the IVA journey can sometimes help.

Do keep in touch with us please. x
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.
