I’ve completed my IVA which is great but I feel a bit deflated from the IVA perspective as it’s ended but I didn’t get anything from my IVA company, PayPlan, to confirm this. I keep track of all my payments and cancelled my standing order once my 72nd payment had left my bank account. I was expecting some sort of communication from them informing me that I had completed my payments and what would happen next. I contacted PayPlan and was told that I don’t receive anything or get told to cancel my standing order and the next thing is that I would receive my completion certificate in around 3 months, (here’s hoping!). Please don’t get me wrong, I’m chuffed that it’s over but feel that some sort of acknowledgement is lacking. I think I’ve read on this forum that some people have received confirmation from their IVA companies that they have completed their payments and to cancel their standing order/direct debit. I can imagine that some people will not know to cancel their payment and who knows how long that would take to get back?
I can see the big picture, which is completing the IVA, and I’m not expecting a pat on the back and a well done from them, (sorry if that comes over as flippant), but I feel that PayPlan should at least acknowledge the end of the IVA.

Well done - I suppose 1 person completing in a large company means nothing.

But we will all congratulate you on here as it's a huge event when you are in an IVA. I remember feeling so happy when all the paperwork came from my IP including the completion certificate.

Now every penny you earn is yours and it's a great feeling when you save for things rather than flashing one of many cards I used to have.

Thanks, Kazza. To be honest I'm not particularly bothered, though on reading my post again it may have come over otherwise, but I feel that coming out the other end after 6 years and hearing nothing from PayPlan is a bit like spending 6 years in jail and waking up one morning to find the cell door open and just walking out. I hope my analogy makes sense!

Hi Sensible77 well done on completing your IVA payments I agree you should get something in writing but with so many customers going through the system to be honest I would rather the companie spent time get completion certificates done as this seems to be the problem area.

Where do I find your details? I can't see anything called signature on your profile and the Ask an Expert section gives me the impression that all the experts will get the details. What am I missing?

Well done Sensible77. We finished last December but due to PPI still have not received our completion certificate. Our company have written an open letter stating that we have finished so that we can show it to people when necessary eg. we had to stand guarantor for our son's university accommodation. Maybe you could ask for something along the same lines.
Life after IVA is wonderful.

I do think that it is sensible for IPs to notify their clients once all payments have been made. We certainly do this in our firm.

I made a huge payment across to my iva at the beginning of march which meant I paid 100p plus fees and I never got acknowledged to say id paid. That's four month ago. I was hoping I would have had my completion certificate by now but not a word off them.

Well done Sensible and many congratulations on completing what isn't an easy journey either, good luck for the future and hopefully that CC will be with you soon.

Melanie that is why every IVA provider should be looking to you and your company for guidance, as you treat your clients with compassion, caring and honesty, I so wish we on here could vote for you regarding the IP of the year, it would definitely be your night, good luck.
Om shanti, namesté, good luck to all who are embarking on the IVA journey, it isn't always an easy one but the outcome is the best.

IVA COMPLETED August 2012, received Completion certificate 18.4.13.

Hi, Samuel. I will e-mail you but in the meantime, can you tell us what is PayPlan's policy on informing their clients who have finished paying their IVA payments?

Hi, Orchid. Thanks for your post. I've been following your trials & tribulations since you finished paying into your IVA. I hope mine doesn't go like that!
