Well, it was Experian who have done that notice of correction,I guess the problem is, the debts were defaulted and I am disputing the fact that they are not marked as satisfied and the default date. But yes, I would rather they were removed!

Agree with inaiva. Just make sure that your record is sorted once the IVA is finished.

It's because that is all Experian can do.

They are not allowed to update/process the data without agreement from the Data Controller - i.e. the creditor.

But yes, insist it is removed/updated if it is inaccurate. These things will take time unfortunatly.

My IVA is finished and I have the completion certificate, it is just the defaults still showing that I have to sort out.

Good luck with getting it sorted, the creditor MUST back date the defaults to the IVA agreement date and mark it as no further monies are due, if you have that piece of paper whether they like it or not!

What do people think is the best credit rebuilder card for my circumstances? Vanquis or Capital One Classic?

I think Vanquis will just about accept anyone, but personally I'd wait until the credit file is clean (6 years) then apply to the bank.

I'm not sure but if I was looking to lend for say a mortgage and I saw that your current credit card was with Vanquis I'd probably have doubts in my mind. Might not be the case, but I don't think I'll risk it.

There are several posters on here who have been declined by Vanquis. I've not heard of it causing any problems for posters who've gone for other credit afterwards.

That does surprise me Jan. Has anyone got a Vanquis and gone on to get a standard mortgage later on with their bank?

I'm pretty sure that Lisa2009 is one of the ones who have been refused a card and she wasn't the one with the IVA, her hubby was.

Don't know if anyone has gone on to get a mortgage though.

Well now I am puzzled. I applied online just now for the Capital One Classic, put in all my details and I got four green ticks and was then asked to sign the agreement online. However, despite the fact that it says you get an instant decision, apparently a member of their team now has to perform additional checks, which can take 7 working days.

What does all this mean? I didn't get a big fat decline immediately. Does this mean that they are just deciding what credit limit to give me? Or could I still be declined?

No idea Ginnyfizz, I think you will just have to wait and see.

This seems encouraging. Before work this morning I logged on to my Experian Credit Expert account and saw that there had been a search on me by Capital One, as I expected. I therefore checked my credit score at this point. It was exactly the same as it was last week. Whereas when Ford Credit checked me (and I was declined) it dented my score by about ten points. So it seems like I am probably about to get the Capital One Classic Card. A colleague of mine who was declined by them says that what happened to her was a big red X in place of the fourth green tick (I got the tick!)and a "Sorry, we are unable to accept..."

Let's be quite clear about this, I am going to use this card just for emergencies that occur in the tight spot just before payday, and the odd place that doesn't accept my debit card, and then pay the bill off. I only really want it to re-establish a credit profile, since at the moment all I have to do that with is a contract mobile phone and my BT landline contract.
