I've just looked at the Halifax website - it says that you can't use the branch counter service when withdrawing less than £300, making deposits or carrying out routine queries.

You cannot pay a cash or cheque in at the Post Office (you can with the Co-op).

If you pay in a cheque you can withdraw the money on the 6th working day after it is received by the Halifax, i.e. if it is paid in before 4pm on a Monday you can withdraw the money on Tuesday of the following week providing neither Monday was a bank holiday.

Sorry to spoil that one for you! Have you tried the Natwest Step account?

I found it in the Easycash terms and conditions. https://www.halifax.co.uk/Easycash/pdf/ ... yTandC.pdf - I don't know if this will work though. If it doesn't, click on apply now and then Easycash Account Conditions.

F&F = full and final settlement.
The account is the easy cash.....online banking and visa electron debit card. Never had any problems with them.

Out of interest, did you tell the banks about your IVAs ?

I'm just about to apply now at either one of them.

Barclays have not got back to me, nationwide were useless.

Thanks for that Skippy, the link worked fine, I had a good read of the T&C and to be honest i am ok with most of that as we pay his cheques in now through the automated machines, and to be honest we never go to the counter anyhow, and most questions we have we do via Telephone or internet, my only worry is still the clearing times, and also on the T&Cs that you sent over it says no debit cards, cheque books etc, not bothered about the cheque books as i had tons from my old natwest account that i never used, its more the debit card may it be electron or whatever, I will chat to my partner over the weekend and make a decision as I feel that we need to get this sorted for when HSBC decide we are too scummy to bank with them!!

So if i ring Halifax and ask for an easycash account they won't mind me mentioning that i could be entering into an IVA. That's if they ask of course.
