Glad that Karol was able to sort this out for you, but surely it doesn't take almost five years to spot that a claim tips the balance over the 10% ruling. Never mind, all is well that ends well!

It is worrying that worms come out of the woodwork at such a late stage.

I appreciate that the final review process should cast an eye over past years for any anomolies that might have been overlooked, but, in GT's case at least, they appear to start from scratch (which might be why they have always regarded the 6 month admin period as THE time to take, rather than the MAXIMUM period allowed).

This indicates to me that they have no confidence in the annual reviews, which is worrying in itself !!

It is probably more the case that they have inherited these issues from other firms - but still suprising to take so long to identify them.
