I pay £8.00 a month for my mobile insurance and with the saving of the RAC membership etc, it would be beneficial all around but I'm sure Skippy said something about the phone insurance once and I can't find it right now so I'll wait for her to come along x

I've never paid mobile insurance, most of my things are covered by the contents.

I do pay extra for AA membership but am more than happy to do so.

If the benefits outweigh the cost I'll go with it but I'm sure I read somewhere of a problem with the phone insurance, they'll cover hubbys and mine and travel insurance, accidental death insurance but seems too good to be true!

I can't remember what happened now and I can't find the post! All I can remember is that Dave didn't claim as it was more hassle than it's worth.

We can't get normal travel insurance or life insurance so those sort accounts are a waste of time for us.

Thanks Skippy, I'll do a google and see if I can find some reviews, hubby is up for it but I'm not so sure, I'm always sceptical of things that sound too good to be true as I always think they are!

I don't know what breakdown cover Natwest are offering now, but Dave ended up paying for the RAC instead of using the one that came with the account as it was so basic.

Thanks Skippy, it's Green Flag home breakdown, not read it all yet and the travel insurance looks ok but apart from November can't see me going away a lot again until IVA is finished unless someone else treats me.

Other than breakdown, and I'm loyal to the AA on that one having been with them since 1972!

Other insurances we are stuffed with due to health problems so those sort of accounts are no good to us.

We're with the RAC and I won't be changing. The only thing we might do is change it to my name to get a better deal and cashback through Quidco!

Had a very bad experience with the RAC and have nothing but good to say about the AA.

The RAC have always been great with me, and I've heard bad things about the AA! The only problem I had with the RAC was when they threatened to charge me as I'd called them out so many times!

I also had a bad RAC experience and swore never to use them again - it was back in 1994 at the British Grand Prix when my car overheated in the jam trying to get out of the car park, and my wife and I, who had already been soaked to the skin, were left shivering in the car, unable to put the engine on to warm up, from 5.00pm on the Sunday, until 3.00am on the Monday morning before someone turned up! This is despite me walking nearly a mile to the nearest phone box (no mobiles then!) THREE times in that time to chase them up and ask them what the hell they were playing at, having to leave my missus on her own in the dark in a car in the middle of a field! We eventually got home in a pick up truck at 6.00 and went straight to bed for a very long sleep!! I sent them a very strongly worded letter the day afterwards, and they replied offering me a years free membership as compensation!! Yeah right!! AA for me every time. [:(!]

Each to their own, but the RAC have always got out to me really quickly and have always made sure that I've been ok when I've been on my own.
