Hey Clair. We have all felt the way you are feeling now but everything will be fine in the long run. You have found the right place for best advice and support for you and your husband throughout the process, here on the site.

Try and remain positive.

Thanks Cath - I think its hard cos part of me thinks i shouldnt be feeling like this - for the first time in so long we actually have some money to pay for our shopping instead of putting on a credit card - but with that good feeling comes the absolutely awful feeling because the only way we are able to do this is because we are only making token payments to our creditors - and its not their fault its ours

Well we have sent off almost all of our information (only bank statements outstanding)to Mel and her team and just have to wait for the next step - being self employed I am sure this whole process will take longer than normal!!

I'm s/e too, I don't think it really took any longer, maybe a week or so.

Cath - thats good to hear that it didn't take much longer.
We have just started out on what seems like a very long road.
Spoke to Tina yesterday and it appears an IVA should be viable.
New bank accounts hopefully sorted today and we were lucky enough to get a normal current account with the co-op just waiting for account numbers so we can change all bank stuff over to them.
Still unsure what to do about business accounts tho??

Hi Wannabee
Sounds like you are in an identical situation to me - literally yesterday changed all DD's over to the new bank account and sent all gathered info off to IP on Saturday. I suppose it depends on the type of business you do as to whether you can have good projected accounts etc

We haven't had Melanie accept the case just yet but Tina thinks it should be ok.
We are just awaiting our new bank account numbers to be able to change DD's.
I already have a projected cashflow for 12 months arranged (might need a few tweaks to make it fully realistic working on a cash basis (ie I forgot about trade discounts when paying cash and not credit accounts)
We run an online footwear retail business - how about you??

Care for children, think projected income quite hard though especially in the current climate :-)

I cannot identify you debtfreewannabee - could you send me a direct e-mail to my website and I can let you know if I have reviewed your case yet and what my initial thoughts are.

Thanks Melanie.
I have sent an e-mail now. I did not expect you to have had the chance yet to see the information as I only spoke to Tina on Monday afternoon.

Hi there Kath

I have found the papers and had a look through the information and it all looks fine to me.

I note that you are self-employed - and as an added bonus (for me!) I have discovered that you come from my late Dad's hometown - which I have not visited for several years now. So when the time is right for us to meet up - I am going to treat myself to a little trip and have a couple of days of reminiscing my childhood and can visit you at the same time.

More about this when we get further in to your case.
