Hooray can't believe it's been accepted! After Northern Rock rejected it the first time I was so shaken up. Since May I'd been so positive thinking we were getting things sorted ready for a fresh start and then it just disappeared. I cried for a while but our IP was fantastic and tried again with some alterations the following week. The meeting was adjourned again for 5 days then Northern Rock finally accepted if we extended to 6 years and paid £642 not £627.

It's an incredible feeling to think that in a few years we won't be in any debt. It's hard because I know it was our fault but it's a shame that credit is so easy to obtain. Before I went for the IVA I applied for more 0% credit cards to do transfers and applied for loan. In the week we decided to go for IVA I was accepted for £15000 more credit!! I just can't believe it's that easy to get into so much debt.

I've posted the chairman's report where it says creditor voting but not sure it worked so here's how they voted.

Mine

HSBC 19309.95 yes
Northern Rock 20252.18 yes
(together loan)

Hubby's

Barclaycard 289 didn't
Barclay's partner finance 1023 didn't
Black Horse 1844.56 yes
Egg 2387 didn't
HFC 1027.63 no
HSBC 19309.95 yes
Llyods 11021.98 yes
M&S 1416.43 yes
Northern Rock 20252.18 yes
Virgin credit card 3207.27 yes

We're paying 58p in £.

Well I'm on cloud 9 that IVA accepted - Good luck to everyone for your meetings!

Hi sobroke

Thats great news. they certainly gave you a bit of stress and made you wait, but I am so glad all has worked out well in the end.
Get into your budgeting now and saving that little contingency fund as we all like to, I am sure you will find it so refresshing as so many of us have to not rely on credit anymore.

All the best
