They do because they rang my other half and asked about it. See my initial post.
I wonder how they found out. I have another current account which has about £200 in it gifted by my parents for my dental work. Hope they don't find it. Did they go snooping using your details I wonder? Scary stuff

Data protection act, unless its a joint account they had no right to do that at all.

They may show up on a credit check (Money Laundering rules have made this necessary)

It would not be a Data Protection Act issue - it's whether the insolvency legislation allows them another legal gateway.
Everything that I have seen suggests that its staff bluffing their way through and implying they have more powers than they actually do.
IVA's need to catch up with the other regulatory regimes.
Ah well - back in CSA mode.
IVA started March 2011, Completed March 2016 and certificate issued 11 days after final payment. It was not always easy but then some of the best decisions aren't.

I'm baffled, can anyone confirm if bank accounts appear in a credit file? I think the savings account may be linked to a NI number and that's their gateway in. I still don't see how they would know you have an account elsewhere.

They will be targeted to uplift the amount they can get from all of us.
Calling a third party regarding an account should be a data protection issue, as the account could have been used by a person in a relationships suffering from abuse and if their "escape" account is discovered or hinted to then it could have potentially fatal consequences (Numerous court cases back this up)
You could understand a bit more if its the bank involved, but they are just digging for cash.

In regards uplifting payments...can they do that if theres no change in income and expenditure by denying previous allowances? Theyre bound to try something like this as out for every penny.

Savings Accounts do not appear on a credit search with either of the main three bureaus. Also, Creditfix MUST HAVE your written consent to undertake a credit search.

I've just had a chat with my brother who works for RBS. He said ISA is connected to HMRC For tax purposes however all access must be provided by the account holder.
I find it strange they can dip into accounts when they're requesting bank statements.
