They shouldn't be allowed to touch any of the money we save from allowances, that money is rightfully ours which we have worked hard to save!
I'm going to fight this tooth and nail if they try and take it of me as at the moment this IVA is certainly liveable, strip it back and try to squeeze even more money out of us and it would be a disaster.
I fail to see that the money you have left IF ANY that you put in account, Money that has already been said is yours to do as you please can possibly be classed as extra income. Lets look at 4years into an iva and you have put aside £20 a month out of your monthly allowance you could have £1000 will they take this from you?
I think so, they seem to deem it that if you put it by you didn't really need it. So I bet that if you could not show a use for the £1000 they would claim it. Best to stick it under the mattress, or as Michael mentioned, gamble it away. Absolutely insane. When the review comes up in April, our sleeves will be well and truly rolled up for the fight and we know where the regulatory body/ombudsman is.
This defies logic, and the whole situation is making me so upset, angry and stressed. By the way, I was actually told there was nothing to stop me putting my spare cash "under the mattress" I thought the whole point of the iva was to teach budgeting and money management.
My review was due October and Ive heard nothing, despite constant calls and emails, and re sending my i&e. My payments should actually be less than what they are too. Has anyone actually had a successful review yet? I was looking at my annual review reports from PJG, they are very official and show where money has been paid, current dividend and lots of other information. Has anyone had this from CF yet?
I'm dreading the equity release thats approaching. I'm so worried that we wont be treated fairly.
I wonder if Andy could get a representative of CF to come on and answer this query?
It isn't open to debate, or interpretation, in any way, shape or form as far as I can see, but then again it is always difficult to comment too much on individual cases without knowing all the specific details. Clarification of the CF position on this would be useful, even if it disagrees with the general consensus.
Regards.

Ive been looking at paperwork too and have emails from Mel and Co as evidence. They have no right to claim savings from our share of OT or allowances. I feel they will look at bank statements and claim anything thats not a bil as surplus...basically deny any liveable allowances like other companys did to us. As for paperwork...does anyone have anything actually signed by Susan, i mean actual pen to paper not a photocopy or printed like Mel would do, or anyone thats actually spoken to her? Im beginning to doubt her prescence.
What worries me is you could telephone PJG and speak to Mel if you needed too, and i found all of Mel's staff really helpful and knowledgeable with CF i don't think we would be able to speak to Susan, you just get to speak to someone in customer services!
Savings are our surely, there is no debate on it. If I am given an allowance of £20 a month to fix my car, £10 a month dentist/glasses then I have to save it, I can't hand it over every single to month to some anonymous person in the hopes they would have the money when my car needs fixing or my glasses need changing. I really don't understand where they are coming from with this...and as size5 says, surely a general answer from CF would be helpful here.
We too are waiting for a Dec review and questions on money etc., its all very stressful.

Yes PDF downloads will be fine I bank with Yorkshire bank and they do not provide Historic online bank statements so had to copy the originals and post, I think we all need to be pro-active get your stuff sent off then you have completed your side of it in a timely manner when they decided to deal with it is down to them
Glad they accept PDF bank statements. I've gone paperless so don't get any in the post.
Question to the OP, sorry if already asked, did you tell them about your savings account? Or is it on your statement? I personally wouldn't bother telling them, they dont know you've got a savings account.
