hi all received my certificate of completion pursuant to Part VIII of the insolvency Act 1986 - it took along time as i paid a F&F back in April. What should i do with this certificate? DO I SEND IT ANYWHERE - like the insolvency register etc to get my details removed from the internet.

Any advice what to do with this now will be appreciated. thanks all.

Your IP should arrange for your details to be removed from the insolvency register, but it would be worthwhile sending them a copy too and asking them to do so.

You should also send a copy to all 3 Credit Reference Agencies to ensure that the IVA is marked as Satisfied.

You may also like to get hold of your credit reports and ensure that any defaults are dated prior or on the date of your IVA agreement. Your defaults and IVA will remain on your credit file for 6 years from when the IVA was agreed.

By doing this however it ensures that all the negative data at the CRA is removed at the same time. There are some template letters which may help on this site.

The Insolvency Service will only accept confirmation of a closed case from the Insolvency Practitioner dealing with the case.

It's usually as soon as they recieve the letter - although a couple of my ex-clients have had difficulties recently and we have had to resend documents. As with all areas of the Civil Service at the moment - I suspect that they are understaffed.

I'm sure I read that it will remain on the register for 3 months following notification of completion of the iva.

Seems they are quick to put things on the register, but not so quick to remove it.

That is bankruptcy discharge not the closure of an IVA.

You were lucky Lord Soth.

Perhaps now they are doing an upgrade of the site things may alter for those still showing on there.

Congrats on completing! I can't wait until it's my turn. E dry time I read about someone completing it makes the end seem a little bit nearer.

It's not bothered me to be honest. Nobody I know has ever heard of the register so they're not likely to see me on there.

I just want that letter which tells me I have finished.
