Excellent service to date. We used one of their preferred dealers (this makes things easier I think, as they are used to the process). Very speedy too. I only applied online Tuesday night. They picked up my application Wednesday morning, I gave them details of the car I was interested in at lunchtime on Wednesday, the loan acceptance agreed within minutes. Test drove the car last night, confirmed it was one I wanted, and they released funds to dealer this pm. Paid additionallly for the telegraphic transfer of funds in order for to pick car up this weekend, as it fitted in with work, otherwise payment would have been by BACS 3 - 5 days. All documetation sent by e-mail. Access to a scanner & e-mail speeds things up. I was able to print of the agreement, sign it, scan it to my laptop and e-mail back to them. Couldn't have been easier. In addition, I now have an electronic copy of the agreement too.
Thank you KayKay, if we all read between the lines, you did the hardest work making it easier to help you with your car finance. Well done and thank you for considering CL4U, enjoy your new car!

It's great news for all of our posters David - hopefully you can help a few more out.

Well done on your new purchase KAYKAY. Personally i think i would have stuck with the old car and saved that £900 per month for a few months and bought a car cash. I know when my Iva ends, the last thing i wanna do is take out a £200 a month loan. Thats where it all started for me 10 years ago. Never again. But good luck with the new car
Andy, I understand exactly where you are coming from. However in our case, a better car was an absolute must... we needed a new car prior to commencing our IVA in 2005, but just couldn't do it. We have struggled on and on with our car as we had no other choice. I now travel up and down the country giving demonstrations, so a reliable car is a must. To save enough money to have been able to purchase this vehicle cash would have taken almost another year, and I really don't think our old car would have lasted. We are still struggling with our second car though and will have to carry on struggling with that one I fear. It is the less important car of the two, so we can afford to wait with that one and save up 3 or 4 thousand to buy a nice but now so expensive second car. At the end of the day, without having gone through the IVA process we would never have been able to change any car. Lessons really have been learned.
Hi kaykay
Sorry if i sounded a little bit harsh in my opinions. Im really happy for you to get a new car and its really good to hear that there will be lenders out there after Iva. Think i must have been really lucky in my Iva proposal. My car was valued at 10k and i was able to keep it with no issues. I had a bank loan for it though and not finance.
is a loan not classed as finance then?i will be in the same boat and will prob just about be able to keep my car going long enough to see me through but when my iva finnishes i will be doing the same as kaykay and look for a car straight away.
cc received 6th January 2014 now upwards and onwards
We bought our car with a bank loan and have been able to keep it.

When i bought my car i went to the bank for a personal bank loan. And then bought the car from the dealership with cash. The apr was loads better than taking finance from the dealership. Also if i had taken finance from the dealership then the finance company would have just taken the car back when i went into the iva
Not necessarily Andy, some people do continue on with finance and they are allowed to pay this outside of the IVA. Once they have finished though, that money has to be paid into the IVA.

Andy, I didn't think you sounded harsh, I fully understood your views, but was keen to explain that we have learned lessons through our IVA, and the decision to take on the loan for a car was not an easy one, just practical in our circumstances. The funds for the car have been released and the dealer has rung up to confirm collection of the car at 10.30am....... oooh I can't wait.
