We have Aviva (or Norwich Union as it once was) for house insurance and still continue to pay monthly, we've even had several claims in the last couple of years and they still continue to cover us.

I recently had a big row with an insurance company over monthly payments. What they actually explained to me, was that if you pay monthly, basically they borrow the full amount to cover you for the year, then you pay it back monthly. Woe betide you if you need to cancel part way through the year for any reason, because if you're not careful, and don't give them the relevant amount of notice to cancel, and you have to read the small print very carefully, they will charge you for the full year that they have borrowed on your behalf. This could be a load of twaddle, but it's what they told me and I went bezzie to say the least.

Well I just saw on road wars one motorist claiming he had insurance when he was stopped by police. What he actually did was take out monthly insurance and then cancel his direct debit, retaining the paperwork to show the police when they stopped him.

So the insurance company will just cancel the insurance if you don't pay and you can expect to see blue lights in your rear view mirror when they ID your car from their on board ANPR equipment linked into the DVLA and Insurance databases.
We're willing to wipe the slate clean, give you a fresh start. All that we're asking in return is your cooperation.

There's not much they don't know about your car these days. ANPR is brilliant.
