Hi

We have completed out iva and are awaiting our completion certificate. Does anyone know of any finance companies or has anyone managed to obtain car finance in this waiting period?

Hubbys car is not looking well at all, over the last 12 month it has cost us over £800 in repairs and now needs a further £375 of work doing the car is only worth £1000 :(
An IVA is a long hard road but valuable lessons have been learnt along the way. Now looking forward to enjoying a debt free future!

The only firm I know of, which has been used by forum members, is Moneybarn. There are other adverse credit firms discoverable by Google, but I know not if they are the leg-breaking kind of outfits.
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.
IVA Completed 23rd July 2013 .... C.C. 10th January 2014

Hi,
I completed my IVA in September 2014 in full but i will have it remain on my credit files until Jan 2018. Last month my car failed its MOT impressively and was not worth the money to repair. I have a lease agreement now for non-status lease on a brand new car - as a non-status route, they ignore your previous credit history and focus purely on your future ability to repay. Again as it is non-status, they do charge slight more and they will only start with a 1 year lease. There are a number of companies out there who will lease to you if you can prove you have ability to afford the repayments - i think it is in the short term a better way than financing a car as there are no servicing costs, no tax etc. I hope to use this for the next couple of years until my credit file is repaired and then either in that time i will have saved for a newer car or will continue with a cheaper mainstream lease.
Good luck
IVA started Jan 2012
Last payment made June 2014 @100p
Completion certificate received Sept 2014

Try these - not cheap, but if needs must...
