On Saturday I am doing a car boot sale. Can't actually believe it as I hate them with a passion. Anyway I was wondering if anyone had any tips on how to make it successful such as pricing etc. I am doing it with my 12 yr old daughter and my mate is pitching next to me so that if we don't sell anything at least we can have a laugh [;)]

Rather you than me!!!! I do Ebay and that's it.

Hope you do well footie. Can't help you with any advice but hopefully one of the other posters can.

My biggest tip is don't charge too much, but don't take the lowest price offered- haggle first!

I once did one with a friend who wanted vitually the shop price for everything and sold hardly anything!

Did one with another friend who labelled everything with a price and sold everything!

The question you need to ask yourself is "Do you really want to take anything home?"
Have no regrets, the future is ours!

Start off with a higher price in the first hour and then reduce it as time goes on if it's not sold. I usually make around £60-£80 on a boot sale once a year and do enjoy it when I do it. The thought fills me with dread but it gets rid of all my old stuff and on the way home what is not sold goes to the tip! x

Hope it goes well! You're better than me as I refuse to do boot sales and I'm off Ebay at the moment after all the hassle I had - no wonder I'm skint!

I did one and put price labels on stuff so I didn't lose track of what I wanted for each item. Then as it got towards the end I just took them off and told people to make me an offer!
Good luck and watch out for the proper car booters who will rummage through your boot before your even unloaded! That's your chance to up the price a little ;-)

Now that is the bit I don't like, I would like to set out my stall and all they do is rummage and I end up saying, please come back in 15 minutes but it doesn't stop them. A silly price usually gets rid of them x
