Car and house insurance

My car insurance is due this month and the renewal notice said it would be £30.60 per month for the coming year.
Did some looking round on the net and one of the compare type sites gave me a well known company for £25 per month. I went to the well known company's own website and got a quote for £17 per month so a saving of £13 each and every month! I am well impressed!
While I was there I checked for house insurance (both buildings and contents) even though it isn't due till January - that would save £15 per month!
It really doesn't pay to be loyal anymore. When I phoned to cancel my existing company all the guy said was 'do you have a cheaper quote' and when I said yes, he said,'oh well then'!

That's what Churchill said when I phoned them to cancel my insurance! Julie's right, it's worth looking on Quidco - I should get £75 for taking out my Co-op car insurance through them.

My wife and I have both saved a FORTUNE ON INSURANCE,by using sites via quidco. Cashback for both policies and easy to use(no spam from quidco either just £5 a year if you earn that much).

It really does pay to shop around.

Dave did the same as me but unfortunately his £75 hasn't tracked and he can't trace it until the end of September so he's not a happy bunny!

I think you have to wait for 3 months anyways in case you cancel the policy. Never had any bother at all with quidco and have £120 waiting to be sent out!!! Doesnt add up to what I am paying out in car repairs but seems like a small victory every time I get money from them or from the survey site!!!!(another £20 en route to add to the £10 I have already,saving up for a wii for sons xmas,well it will part pay for it!!)

I think he's going to have to raise a dispute, and I don't know if he'll then have to wait another 3 months for the money - he won't be a happy bunny if that's the case!

I like getting my payments from them - I should be getting £18 from the National Trust this month and £95 next month from the Co-op and Homebase. That's a chunk towards my car tax!

It always comes in handy does extra money,strangely enough though I always seem to have something to spend an extra I get on,be it broken cars or fridges or vets bills or school uniforms etc etc etc!!!

I like quidco too as it does soon mount up and I always shop around for insurance.

I did register with quidco after hearing about it here but found another company offering a price that was equal to the co-op, including the cashback. Didn't go with co-op as we had a credit card with them which was included in the iva and I felt a bit awkward. (the credit card was northern rock but co-op took it over)

its a site that you go through to other sites and earned cashback. You pay a fiver a year as a sort of subscription and can get cashback from all sorts of sites. Google it and look through the list of sites you can buy from and get cashback. If you already do any shopping online theres a chance that you can do it via quidco and make some money for yourself. Clothes,cd's,tv's,insurance,mobile phones,garden sheds etc etc can be bought via the site.Its brilliant.
