I just wrote a post and lost it because I wasnt logged in, if it comes on twice I apologise. I couldnt find it.

I dont know if I dreamed this but is there a lease car company that would accept someone who has a 'blow a credit check computer' type credit rating?

My car is a cause for concern, an MOT last week wasnt too bad; £170. The last two trips before today, after 10 minutes the gear stick was really stiff and I could barely get the thing into gear, any gear. Today it went completely I had to coast into Tesco's car park, turn it off and start it up in gear, thats the only way. Green flag wouldnt tow it because by the time they got there, it was drivable. It only packs up when its warmed up, he diagnosed a dry gearbox. I am fearing open wallet surgery.

I so should have bought a car when I had the chance.

Hope everyone is Ok, I am nearing the end of my course, the work is full on right now. I will not know if I have passed until the end of March. I have a bit of a health issue, which is being ignored for the time being. Coley boy is healthy and beautifully affectionate at the moment. One of our other cats got stuck up a tree today, my son climbed up and got her down, agains my advice.

Thanks for anyones help here.

Wonderful to her from you againn, and that you and yours are OK. Hope to see you posting a bit more now your course is coming to an end.

Sorry to hear about the car. Duncton Leasing are the only company that I know about, but they do need payments of between 3 to 6 months lease payments in advance. I think that you can go on line to see the range of cars they currently have available - so give it a go.

Hi Lily, it's good to hear from you, and I have to apologise for not emailing you for so long. I'm glad Coley Boy is doing well, and Harry says hi to his friend! He also said to tell your other cat that tree climbing isn't worth the effort!

I hope your course is going well, and I'm sure you'll pass in March - don't forget to let me know.

Anyway, back to your question - the company that's often mentioned on here is Duncton, www.duncton.com

I hope you can get something sorted out as it must be a worry for you xxx

I'll definitely consider them if my car doesn't last until my BR has dropped off my credit file. It's only 5 years old this year, but there are already a few little hiccups!

Yeah. thanks so much, I will in touch, I want to get a job at the end of my course. I am fine, I think so anyway. I not going to give up on my new life. I just wish I had done things a bit differently, I could have bought a newer car, I thought about it but didnt do it. Hindsight eh?

I have to say, its a bitch being in the sticks in winter, we had two burst pipes and its been snowing again today. I cannot wait for the spring, bring it on.. This house is freeeeezing, the heating system is well, crap. Anyway, I am so going to celebrate the spring, might even go up to that place in the stone thing. Become one of those long gown types. I say, and I will probably get shot for this, bring on global b***** warming. I need some of that, I recycle and all that but if you ask me the polar bears have got nothing to worry about.

Coley boy says hi. He is looking at me right now, so cute... he has this new habit of announcing himself, its really cute.

Love to all, you lovely people you.

My car is 2001 so its nine years old now. The mechanic today said it was in good nick. Then again he dosent have to pay the bill. It has only had one owner and me. I just hope it gets sorted tomorrow without too much money, I saved £300 for the mot, I thought I might need some tyres. Holding the road hasnt been that good, mind you they dont grit these little lanes. Anyway, I will give these people a go. I do save money now and I was going to save for a kia or something cheap and cash. Can you trust those people selling cars off their drives? I dont know. I have heard they fail the MOT most out of all the cars.

I have got some cheap ticksts to London next week, going to take the kids but it really depends now on that heap of junk, I mean car.

Best laid plans, eh?

Anyway cherio for now and thanks again for your help.

Exactly Skip, how can they say global warming. I know our waste is a bit much, totally agree with that but please..... its freezing. Firstly I put thows over the sofa's so we could feel a bit warmer. Now its throws and those microwaved warmy type thingies and full on socks and slippers.

Nice to see you again Lily and glad the course is doing ok.

Coley sounds wonderful and so glad he made a full recovery.

Sorry your car is being a pain. Hope it lasts out or that you can manage to get another one.

I'm fed up with the cold as well - sick of snow and ice.

Hi Melanie, I didnt see your post there. Youre still here then? ~Giving out your lovely advice to people...There is nothing to compare with the hope that this site gives to people in debt. Its a horrible place to be and no matter what happens now, I know I can get through it and am still smiling.

Thanks very much, its nice to see you again also.

I havent taken the car yet, had a fall down the stairs last night, nothing serious. We have a downstairs bathroom and the stairs spiral at the top. I missjudged it and have a bit of a bruised botty. I am fine as long as I dont sit down. I dont think I would cope with the bus back or the walk so my son is coming home to help me. He is a good one, bless him.

I have just taxed the car and last week got a nice green MOT, so I am going to hang on and save up for a few months. The green flag bloke that came out yesterday said it wouldnt cost much to solve the 'dry gear box' problem. Although if his idea of being with me within the hour is anything to go by, I am in trouble.

I do have a decent contigency and some put away for London next week. Hopefully the problem will be solved. The cars look great on the site its a very good idea.

Thanks for all of the replies.

Lots of love for now.
