Can you hire a car while you have an IVA. I believe the hire company will run a credit check if you present them with a debit card. What result would they get from that check - an acceptable one or not

Welcome Sue, I believe the check will be to confirm or determine your identity. Not a credit check. Although it will be registered on the CRA site as a search
Completed IVA - August 2012 pheeeeeeeeeew
Only my opinion - Nothing More Nothing Less

I hired a Car with enterprise with a Debit card and I'm in a IVA. The only thing is they take a £200 deposit as well as hire fee,but the deposit is refunded as soon as car is returned
Have no regrets, the future is ours!

It may well register as a search but I would think it is the same as insurance searches - they don't show up to anyone else checking it.
