Hia i need some advice please, my husband took out car finance for a van over a 3 year period, it was for a vw caddie van, last year he went into partnership with his brother in law, my husband couldnt drive due to a bad accident so his brother in law insured the van for him to drive as my husband was no longer insured as no point if he wasnt able to drive it, anyway within 6 months a woman reammed the van up the back end and wrote this van off, the brother in law made a claim and was paid out via the insurance company, he refused to give any to my husband to pay off the year ountstanding on the 3 year finance deal and they have now gone their seperate ways, because we have paid 2/3rds of the finance is this in our favour or will we have to go to court, we have never ever missed a payment and still pay monthly for the van but husbands worried sick and depressed that he will be penalised even though we still pay for this and will continue to do so till the finance is cleared, can you advise me please..

Hi joanne and welcome to the forum,

If you are intending to continue paying the finance charges on this van, then there is no problem - apart from the fact that your brother-in-law's behaviour towards you and your husband is appalling.
