I don't have the disk for her computer, it didn't come with one, I'm useless at technology like this

marie's link pretty much should do the job but you say that you don't have a ny windows recovery disks?

Let me know. there are a few boot disks around but i should be able to give you a link to download then burn to a blank cd-r disk (do you have any?)

i can get/acquire one or two no problem re the blank disks, i just hope i can follow the link properly or I may make more mess than it's in now

you have the windows xp recovery cd rom?

you REALLY cant break things following that link :o)

at worst it still wont work. Marie's solution should work for your daughters

ok

i'll try to send you a link for a file you need to download then burn to cd on any pc you can actually get to work lol

goddamn pc's grrrrrr

you should be able to phone either/both the manufacturers HP/Advent and request an XP recovery disk.. they should have given to you when you bought. Don't let them charge.. You have paid for the licence key..They should send you a cd-rom for free.. Don't take no for an answer,, When you get a copy we will beable to help :o)

Just an update on mine and daughters laptops, they're both fixed by myself! I am not totally computer illiterate and just needed a little remote guidance from son and they're both now up and working! don't ask me how I did from instruction on MSN! but the main thing is I can assume position on sofa again!
