Hi bethany.j

welcome to the forum

Would like the opinion of Melanie & Ian on this one.

What other debts do you have and do you have any disposable income? Also it would be helpful to give them a little more info so that they could advise of the potential suitability of an IVA with them.

HMRC will recoup these from your future benefits rather than stand as a claim in the IVA. They will only become a direct claimant in insolvency proceedings in the event that you become no longer entitled to receive any benefits.

however - since im no longer with the mother of my child, they now have stopped chasing me and now are trying to take my ex to court for the full overpayment.
lots of payments to go.
