Hiya sorry for jumping on but was just wondering whilst reading your thread....I have a credit card when I entered into my Iva it was 0£ My IP at the the time knew about it and I did I use it to buy my little boy a pair of trainers for £20 was I not allowed ? This credit card is still ongoing and they got the ppi from them too and I also have a catalogue that's ongoing too it's not been stopped but not used it either but tbh like the trainers I paid it back a few £ each week so I wouldn't max any of them out as I've learnt my lesson lol we paid our f&f off in August but didn't realise in the small print our creditors wanted one more month and so it's still going on as we are paying £50 a month to them as we couldn't pay the extra month as my dad did the f&f as we couldn't afford it anymore which is why it's taking us so long to actually get it finished #128545;#128545; it does say we can have £500 and no more over the time so just presumed I could if not whoops lol I'm a worrier though arrgghhh

If you terms state your maximum credit was £500 then this would have been fine, although I'm surprised you were still able to use the card post IVA, they are usually frozen.

Hi Lisa, something I have noticed is the catalogue I put into the iva is still open with a balance on it which I thought was strange i thought they closed accounts which go into Ivas but my sis-in-laws is the same catalogue and hers is still open too, I've not tried to use it at all just thought it strange, my partners lloyds accounts are still open too even though they have not been used in well over a year and one of them went into his iva.
is this odd?

You'd probably find that if you tried to use them then they would be blocked. Some of my accounts remained open even though I couldn't use them.

Starry -- whether an account remains "open" or not depends upon how that particular company deals with toxic debt. Some create dummy accounts and close the original, others use the existing account for payments received but freeze the account so it can no longer be used.
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.
