Hia,

Yes you most certainly can. I have one and I rent my house. I believe that the only critera are surplus income and debts of over £15,000. So long as you generally pay in over £200 then you should be a ble to qualify for an IVA.

You can have an IVA as a tenant and indeed many members of the Armed Forces enter IVAs even though they live on base as they fear bankruptcy would damage their career prospects.

Hi Adam - welcome to the forum.

A lot of tenants worry they won't be considered for an IVA. In some cases it can make it easier that you rent and do not own property but every cases is assesed on its own situation.

The best thing you can do iget some specific advice for you from one or two of the professionals and see what your options are. Don't proceed until you feel comfortable and well informed.

Regards.

The fact that you are not a home owner will have no bearing on if you qualify for an IVA. If you speak to 2-3 companies and have any questions after here is the place to get an answer!

Lots of tenants do an IVA - we have them posting on here!

I recommend that you speak to a professional. Visit www.iva.com for a list of companies and reviews and give one or two a ring. You will receive free and impartial advice as to all the options open to you.

I'm a renter and it didn't have any bearing on my iva. Speak to a few professionals and they will be able to advise on all your options. You'll have a gut feel when you have the right option and the right person representing you.
