Your IVA will remain on your credit file for six years from the start and until you get your completion letter. Once you have completed then check to make sure that any defaults are dated at the start of the IVA. You will need to rebuild slowly by making sure such things as utility bills are up to date, also mobile phones and mortgage payments. You could then look at taking out a new credit card and paying back every month. Some cards are known to be available to people with poor credit. Make sure you do a soft search first so that it doesn't show on your credit report.
