Our council tax bill states "If payment is not received in accordance with this bill, prompt recovery action will be taken against you. This could result in your right to pay by instalments cancelled and the balance of the full year's charge becoming payable".

Given the financial pressure on public sector organisations I would say that asking for the full year upfront will be a real possibility and they would have the legal ability to insist on it.
IVA started March 2011, Completed March 2016 and certificate issued 11 days after final payment. It was not always easy but then some of the best decisions aren't.

If that did happen we would likely allow our clients a payment break to do it and then gather the IVA payments over the remainder of the year. It would be a hassle and difficult depending on the size of the bill and IVA payment so hopefully it does not happen!
