Sadly it's all in the past now as my dad died 11 years ago. Mum still feels guilty that she gets council tax benefit though!

I really do feel for you and your daughter and I hope things work out for you xxx

Deb & Skippy, please dont think I was having a go at ALL people on benifits. I totally support those people who need the benifits and actually want to work but due to circumsatnces beyond their control they can't. I beleive that the benifits should only go to those people and not the people who choose not to work and have children to gain more benifits. I also have a sick child hence the £600 childcare costs (for 1 child part time) my mum looks after my son for free.

Sorry if any offence taken.

I work in the community and come accross all kinds of people each day, however most of you just really wouldn't beleive how some people live!!! It annoys me to see people who have never worked have everything given to them on a plate and even brag about it and yet some poor old pensioner who has fought for the country and worked all their lives get next to nothing because the have saved a small amount!! Sorry I know this is getting poltical but the current system is sooo wrong!

Bye bye tax credits, it was nice knowing you...[:(]

All in all a rather tpyical Tory budget. I fear this budget is very short sighted. Yes, cuts need to be made, but recovery needs to be made also. I am doubtful that we will get the growth and recovery we need under this budget.

Thank goodness I don't need those anymore! I just have my pay frozen for two years - I can cope with that.

Hi Kaza,
No offence taken. I just hate people thinking I'm one of the people who think I choose not to work. As I said in my post I used to think that people on benefits had it easy (I worked in a solicitors and the odd person on benefits would ask me to call a taxi as it was free!!). Those people are the ones who make being on benefits hard, as banks etc also suddenly see you very differently when it comes to lending and interest rates. I'm sorry about your son being sick. I'm sure Skippy didn't take any offence. It's just when you are an honest person on benefits you feel you have to explain yourself. At the end of the day we are all in the same boat (I quite like this boat, now) getting out of debt and getting help and hopefully helping others with any troubles.

Cheers,
Deb
IVA started Sept 09. Glad to be on the way to being debt free

For those of us with tax credits as in myself and my daughter then it will hit hard when it happens. Luckily my daughter won't be eligible after 2012 so it won't affect me as much as my daughter and AR. x
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

At the risk of offending everyone who is entitled to tax credits at the moment, you have got time to sort out your budget between now and then.

We have gone from getting tax relief on mortgages, to child tax credits, and everything inbetween.

We had to cope with the change and adjust household budgets accordingly.

I'm afraid we are all going to have to do it again.

Without the income the whole I&E will need to be looked at for those in an IVA by hopefully an empathetic IP x

I'm with Lesley, the I&E will need to be redone. I can't see how I can sort out my budget to make up £40 worth of savings when I am down to just a few quid at the end of each month.

All our disposable income is taken into account with a 100% honest I&E so therefore, I feel the IP will be appreciative of this shortfall in income. x

They will have to be!
The £40 currently shows as income so it would be true, fair and accurate to report it as gone when the changes take effect.
