I would think that they are probably the best.

Thanks for the kind comments - the Samaritans are a great organisation, and the forum's own Elv works in such capacity and can probably throw more light on this for you if he is around.

My husband is still suffering with a chest infection; he has asked me to say that the samaritans offer emotional and other support for all types of problem; it is completely annon can all be done on the telephone or by a visit to their local office; they can refer to experts- eg psychiatrists, pschologists, lawyers and others. In my husband's local branch the Forum is advertised and he knows it has been used from postings on here; people often phone a samaritan branch a long way from where they actually reside. Hope this helps. J

Sorry to hear that David is still unwell J.

I hope you and your mother are both in good health.

Apart from David we are well thank you. He had a touch of pneumonia but we have a single handed country GP who comes in every day. He is getting better now though. Thanks for asking. J

Yes it does, thank you. I have been through some dreadful times in the past 7 years. Divorce, money worries, birth of a very premature baby, separation, illness in the family and now this and it is very very stressful, up there at the top. Am keen to pursue my counselling career, voluntarily at first and would like to be able to help people in the future, once I am on the mend from all this of course!

Am sure with your experience you will be a great help - get yourself straight first though because some of the things you will hear will be harrowing to say the least of it. Good luck to you for the future - you sound as if you know what you are doing! J

Glad David is on the mend.

WNLB - I am sure you will do a grand job as a councellor.
