Hi,

I have recently settled my IVA early (after 2.5 years) with creditors receiving around 65p in the pound. I am recently married and we are expecting our first born in October. My question is what are the chances of us being able to get a mortgage? I understand that the interest rate is likely to be a fair bit higher than the "standard" due to the perceived increased risk but who are the best people to contact?

Any help greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

Hi mta,

As Ang mentioned the best person to talk to is Tony Parsons who posts under the name Welsh Boy. I have looked through previous posts and found his email address shown below. Best of Luck

You are best advised to talk to a specialist Mortgage Broker. You can talk to ones in your local area or you can contact Tony Parsons whose details you will find in the Experts section, whom has had very good feedback on this forum.

The likelihood is that you won't pay too much more than the average high street rate as the adverse credit mortgage market is very competitive currently.
