Not as far as I know tulac. The only feedback is that posted on the forum as Barclaycard have been good enough to allow a representative on here.

As I see it Barclaycard are of no particular use to the majority of people on this forum as they are unlikley to use a barclaycard again. The only use I can see is for Barclays to try and intercept people who seek advice prior to entering an IVA, and try and either stop them spending further to minimise Barclays liability, or chase them even more than before in order to secure any monies these people have left.
It is not like they are going to offer us a loan or CC after the event is it. To be fair they are one (or 3 cc's to be exact) of my creditors and I have had no hassle with them at all even before the IVA, but would be a little wary if I was 5 years back now.
ITS OVER WE ARE FINALLY DEBT FREE, CERTIFICATE ARRIVED

I think it is good that we have a creditor posting on here that hopefully will be sympathetic to anyone getting in touch with them. We do not want to drive them away.

I still have my Barclays account even though they were one of my creditors (not hubbys) and do use it.

I'd certainly apply for another card from them a few years down the line.

I agree that it's good to have Barclaycard, and any other creditor, on the forum. It's always useful to know how they think and it does them good to realise that we aren't trying to rip them off.
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.

Barclays were one of the few banks that did,nt need bailing out by the tax payers so lets give them some credit.

Hi
You have to admire Barclaycard for at least making the effort to participate.
There is no other motive for them posting on here other than improving communications and PR so please rest assured.

It is definitely good to have a creditor expert on the site. My personal Barclaycard story, well I had a credit card with them I think about a £2300 limit initially. I didnt use it for a while and paid some of it off and they increased my limit to £4300 approx without my request. I didnt contact them to cancel the increase. I maxed it out and was paying £110 per month and about £95 of that was interest! Ha. I reduced the balance to about £1300 with the help of a consolidation loan and Barclaycard in turn reduced my credit limit to £1350! I would never have a Barclaycard ever again because the interest rate is so high. I have learned my Barclaycard lesson!

In repsect of my IVA, Barclaycard were understanding and put a hold on my calls for 2 weeks at a time whilst I was in the process of sorting out my IVA.

I have learnt my Barclaycard lesson too! :)

My thoughts, for what it's worth:

Not that they'd want me as a customer ever again, but mercer is the reason why I would never use a Barclay product ever again!

They must be on a nice little earner from BC; their behaviour towards me fitted the legal definition of stalking at times and I had told them countless times about my IVA and given them the details of my IP....

It became so stressful, I was advised by my IP not answer the phone and then they sent notices for removing goods from my address...

I'd like to see Barclaycard review how they manage defaulted accounts or at least get defaulted account customer experience views. Mercers is appalling in my experience. No one one enters into an IVA unless it really is a last resort. People in debt and seeking independent advice on solutions are often stressed and at times very vulnerable.

I am pleased Barclaycard are posting on the forum it has mutual benefit - but I'd also like to see them working on initiatives to take on board views and experience and use it to help future customers.

Mercers were my worst nightmare as well but I do like Barclays for banking and still keep the account open so it will become my main account once the IVA is finished.

I'd even have a credit card from them (provided they would give me one and I actually needed one!)

In fairness to Barclaycard I owe(d) them an awful lot of money, but their harassment tactics are renowned around these parts.
I`m also not a fan of the way they up, and keep upping interest rates on card accounts they obviously identify as `perilous`. I questioned Barclaycard on this very early in this thread and just got the standard generic claptrap reply.
Credit (excuse the pun) where it`s due though, at least they`ve got the balls to participate on the forum (although I`m still very sceptical about why they`re here) and maybe they will learn and improve their practices.

Goosed - like you i tend to be sceptical about Barclaycard on here - i would be more trusting if we had a name of the poster or someone whom we could contact direct if there was any issues

I think that he/she would probably get inundated by abuse and/or spam if he/she did so (not saying that it would be anyone from here though!)

This is one reason why we don't allow personal emails - the ones posted by certain companies are generic so you know there is nothing personal is there is any abuse on there.

I don't think you would be able to put a name down at all, could cause all sorts of problems as any abuse could be perceived as personally directed at that person.
