When I applied there wasnt a choice about the overdraft - do you think i should get back to them and ask for a basic bank account?They obviously did a credit check even though it didnt say they would on the application....my only option now I guess is the co-op cashminder account, but I could really do with a cheque book for school stuff. Blimey I really wasnt expecting a rejection!

Hello.Just an update.I now have a savings account with RBS-fluke perhaps that they didn't credit check me? Cat

Seems to be little consistency on the part of the banks.... LTSB let me have a current account, all the usual facilities, but have refused me a savings account....how mad is that!!!... as to your Q Cat 1, used to bank with RBS, wouldn't dare go near them now though as they were my largest creditor....
