Well the good lady and I were enjoying a lazy Sunday in the house with the window open and all of a sudden at 14.15 there was the loudest bang I have EVER heard.

Went outside to investigate and all was quiet so went back in perplexed. [?]

An hour later a friend of mine who lives a mile away put on FB that a BMW had exploded 300 metres from her house. It shook her house and she thought the explosion was in her home it was that bad!

Turns out it was a BMW going up:

Reminds me of not long after we had moved to the house we live in now (it's all open at the back and a magnet for car dumping) and we were woken up one night by three explosions that shook the house. Turned out that someone had stolen a van used for mine rescue (there was still one here then!) which contained three oxygen cylinders and they then set fire to it.

Scary!

Yup good job it was not too close to your house!

As you can see from the picture that is a cul-de-sac area a and a miracle no one was hurt.

Too right!

It was very scary for us as well - felt like an earthquake.
