Can anyone please offer any advice? I fell on black ice last wk & ended up with concussion & have badly hurt my back,Dr has me on painkillers, anti inflamatories & muscle relaxants & signed me off work for 2 wks, When I rang my boss y'day to explain he asked me to give him a call before I return to arrange an appointment for a chat. I have a bad hip & have had to take time off in the past because of this.Im now petrified he's going to sack me & il lose my job. I work in a small team in a shop & I know its puts pressure on when someone is off, my partner says he cant sack me for being ill but the worry of this is not helping my recovery.[:)]

Hi Holly,

You cannot help falling over and of course you will be recovering at home.

I doubt he can sack you - he can speak to you about your sickness record (I've had to have that done before) but I don't think you have anything to worry about.

He can't sack you when you are signed off sick.

Consider taking a friend into the meeting which may just be procedural!
