hi everyone, well I am back from Switzerland and boy what an expensive place that is! for those of you that are wondering how on earth we afforded a holiday there in an IVA, we had paid for it last year before we even started looking into an IVA so only had spending money to save which we managed to do over the months by being extremely frugal and working a little bit of overtime.

We have had a great time and I do feel so much better for having a break after a turbulent 8 months.

The best thing about it was that for the first time ever we took just cash with us and even brought some back, we didn't eat out once (couldn't afford to) but I had been buying a few bits foodwise in the weeks leading up to our holiday and so we had plenty to take with us.

The scariest thing was not having credit to fall back on whilst we were away if anything went wrong with the car (we drove) so we just had to pray everything would be ok which it was, but it's nice to come back knowing we haven't accrued any debt at all whilst we were away and also to having no bills on the doormat on getting home!

So, that's our last proper holiday for a few years I think now!, although we have managed to get a 'sun' holiday to snowdonia booked for a few days at easter next year and will hopefully keep up the camping trips we love.

For now though, it's nice to be able to afford to have proper meals again instead of cutting back so much we were living on beans on toast to save for it!

hope everyones well[:D]

It's been a long time since I went to Switzerland (1971 to be precise)and it was expensive then.

Glad you had a good time though.

Glad you had a great time! We all need a break now and then and I think it is more important to those of us in IVA's than most people as we stress out more lol.
1st payment Oct 2008, last payment Dec 2013. Certificate received March 2015 due to PPI claim.
