I am in process of nominating the Forum for consideration at the forthcoming "Credit Today" awards, in the category of "Contribution to the Credit Industry".

It would help greatly of Forum Members could post their individual replies to the followinjg questions:

Why do YOU think the Forum is worthy of this award ?
What do YOU think are the Forum's greatest success stories ?
what has Membership of this Forum meant to YOU ?

I think the forum is worthy of an award for it excellent information resource & huge support network and rapid response to all topics.
The success stories are all those people who get approved for their IVA who have been through hell & back and live to tell the tale. They are all to help & bolster you up when you need it.
The forum has played a huge part in getting them through the last couple of months. The support from members has been fantastic & also the professional assistance from all the experts is outstanding.

What a great idea John.

I think the forum is very worthy of an award because every single forum member goes all out to help and support each other and the proffessional experts give their advice, time and experience for free even into the small hours.
The forums greatest achievements have to be US. The people who have come to the forum confused and scared. We have all watched new members go through every emotion and come out of it feeling not only much stronger and confident than before but also feeling able to help others going through them emotions.
Im sure im by no means the only person that is glad to have found this forum.
It gave me back my sanity and answered all them niggling questions that you feel you cant talk about with family and friends.
Its such a HUGE support network. Thats why i have stuck around after the IVA has completed so that all experience i have learned from this forum can then be passed on to others even if it only helps them to get a more restfull nights sleep.

Why do YOU think the Forum is worthy of this award ?
I am a member of a few forums and can honestly say I have never been judged on this forum, never been made to feel a second class citizen as I am in debt and mostly the amount of experts that do post gives us the correct information first time. Expert IP's giving up their free time to post all hours of the day and night offering free impartial advice to all.
What do YOU think are the Forum's greatest success stories ?
I think the forum has many success stories anyone who can post their problem and it being resolved by the advice given is a success. So many times we read 'thank you without this forum I would not have been able to.....'
what has Membership of this Forum meant to YOU ?
This forum has been my lifeline since admitting I had a debt problem and has seen me through the initial stages of IVA through to acceptance and hopefully through to completion and beyond. I know I can log on here and give words of encouragement to others, am not expert enough to offer direct advice but learn all the time from others advice.
IVA final payment left the bank on the 26th January 2013...looking forward to a debt free future.

i think this forum is defo worthy of an award. If it wasn't for this forum, i wouldn't have know where to turn. I found this forum quite early on, in my IVA so i was one of the lucky ones. Not only does every question i ask get answered, but if i need a moan or am feeling down, i know that i have friends on here that will help me through. I haven't even met anyone from this forum, but they know more about me than some of my close friends. Well done also to the experts on this forum, i don't think that you all realise how special you all are, and how much you help us all with our problems. Thats why this forum deserves an award, cos its priceless!

I think this forum deserves an award for its support and also realism. It "tells it as it is" whilst being sympathetic and supportive. I found this forum by chance and it really has turned things around for me.

I think the reasons for an award are:

Sharing best practice.
Supporting fellow and new members.
Realistic and practical advice.
Helping people see there is a way out - I know its sounds morbid but I think it helps people keep "alive" rather than despairing and ending it all. I wonder if there could be any way of measuring if people felt like ending it all before but didn't because of the support from the forum.

I would definitely be one of them
Elizabeth

The reason why I think this forum deserves an award is because of all the help and candid advice that it has and still is giving. The experts who donate their time and knowledge are tremendous, they help so many of us with our nagging and worrying questions and concerns, giving us the facts the way they are.
Then there are the other members, people like me who have found themselves drowning in debt. Some of us are still trying to keep our heads above water until the rescue boat comes, while others are onboard, rowing like mad to us and holding out their arms to help us get out of the water. The award should go to the forum in appreciation of all it's members, new and old, who are surviving their debt nightmare...
I think every story on the forum is a success story. We all demonstrate our strength by going through this experience and learning from it. We can then pass on our experiences and knowledge to others, in the hope that it will help. The forum shows that there are solutions to money problems and a life after debt...
Without the forum I probably would have had many a sleepless night, troubled day and a shattered life. I have had so much good help and support from the forum and it's members over the last few months, it helps to know that we are not alone.
It's nice to be back......

I think the forum deserves the award beacuse:
1 They dont judge you
2 The people in the forum go out of their way to help. (very unusual in this day and age!)
3 Their advice is free
4 Where else can you get impartial advice and more importantly support.
5 The forum has helped so many people sleep better at night
6 The people in the forum have given me advice when I thought there was no solution to my probelms
I could go on really but the forum has changed my life as I thought that there werent that many people in my position who wanted to help and who are willing to talk about their experiences. So thanks for everything

Couldn't agree more with all above posts....

The forum for me was a lifeline when I had no where else to turn and continues to be a great support. I was desperate before I found the forum and was very near breaking point but with everyone's help and support I was able to make informed knowledgable decisions and find the solution for me.
I think the balance of expert and posts from people in the same position as yourself is not found on any other forum and all advice is given without judgement which is invaluble. I think its amazing that people give so much time to help others, and if any of my posts have helped anyone then thats great.
As I am in my iva without anyone knowing as I don't want to burden parents as they would pay it off and they are at the age now where I would not allow that to happen and I need to sort this myself. Without anyone to communicate with I would have gone mad, thats where the forum has most helped me.

i am so grateful to everyone on the forum, I could not properly express in words[:)][:)]
Be positive & look after yourself, there are more important things in life than debts....

Best Wishes

Emma x

The forum is worthy of an award.

a) informative and supportive

b) Gives individuals in debt the power to take control of a situation they feel is hopeless. Takes away the guilt, dispair.

c) Was/is a lifeline in my hour of need or many hours of need in my own personal, individual debt recovery journey. Dont know what I would have done without it. Restored my faith in myself that I wasnt a failure, I just made a mistake.

Worthiness - it is quite simply the best networking site for people seeking advice about debt solutions, and support throughout a relatively imtimidating process.

Success Stories - persuading people to take the first steps to recognition of a debt problem, support to those who are at the depths of despair who feel that they cannot share their difficulties with friends and families, helping people to realise that they are not alone.

Membership of the forum has reminded me that there is a very human aspect to our work - and whilst I believe that I have one of the best insolvency teams in this industry we still have to remind ourselves constantly that we are dealing with people's lives, and that our clients are living through the nightmare. I continue to learn every day from all of you valuable posters, and I can honestly say the breadth of knowledge shared on this forum, by professionals and individual alike, has made me a better, more knowledgeable practitioner over the last 18 months or so. I salute you all!
Regards, Melanie Giles, Insolvency Practitioner

I think this site is amazing, it deserves any award!!

If it wasn't for the advice and support of people on here, me and hubby would still be borrowing off Peter to pay back Paul, with our heads still buried firmly in the sand. Just knowing there are people here that know what you are going through, through there own experiences and others who can help you with a solution on a professional basis, is the best tonic.

People who you wouldn't know if they passed you in the street, let you know there is a solution and are always there to pick you up, dust you down and send you on your way, feeling that little bit better!! Thank you everybody, you have all been a life and marriage saver to us.[:)]
Ang.. 13 payments in.. WOW, thats over 20% paid!! http://angela18.blogs.iva.co.uk/ well here we go

if you wish for a rainbow... then you have to put up with the rain xx

I think the forum deserves an award for the support and advice it offers people. Unfortunately I found the forum too late to stop me entering into an unrealistic IVA, but I had so much help and advice to help me sort things out and get my life back on track.
